Claude Bernard watches cater to a select niche in the watch market. The brand offers Swiss-made mechanical & quartz watches in the 150 to 800 dollar price band. It is a known fact that a number of watch lovers aspire for good quality Swiss watches. But it remained the prerogative of the select few affluent ones who could afford to own such luxuries.
In the early 1970s, a Swiss watch maker Claude Bernard had a vision. He dreamt to build and make precision manufactured Swiss watches for people who wanted quality. At the same time they would not have to spend a fortune in the process of acquiring such a watch. Using traditional craftsmanship, the watches would be created by expert Swiss-based watchmakers out of stainless steel or gold.
This vision gave birth to the Claude Bernard brand in the homely village of Les Genevez along the Swiss Jura Mountains. A highly motivated group of engineers and watchmakers got together. With passion and labor of love, the team assembled a range of watches boasting precision Swiss movement at extremely attractive prices. The Claude Bernard brand was officially registered in 1973. The brand is not steeped in history – but that is not necessarily a bad thing.

The brand has now been acquired by Victor Strambini, who is also the owner of Edox brand of Swiss Watches. This makes Claude Bernard a sister company of Edox.
